Autism Social Skills Summer Camp
Learn social skills using Minecraft! Only available during the Summer break.
July 2 to July 29, 2024 | 8:30 to 10:00 AM (PT) | Monday to Friday
As a group, students with Autism meet online to complete the course curriculum and included workbook with the leadership and support of an online behavioural therapist. Our course uses Minecraft characters to explore different socially acceptable behaviours and skills. Students learn about different social skill concepts, such as managing conflict, comprehending other people's points of view, having conversations, understanding social cues, and more. Afterwards, students take part in various in-game Minecraft activities that have been specifically designed to have them interacting and practicing the social skills that they learned that day.
To help motivate our students in completing their workbook lessons, they are rewarded with digital coins for their successful participation. At the end of the week, these coins can be traded in for gift cards and other prizes!
This virtual program runs for 20 days, Mondays to Fridays, for 90-minutes daily. For additional details, please see below.
